Our Assistant Conductor

Benjamin Spagnuolo

Benjamin Spagnuolo joined the NTSO as a Conducting Associate during the 2022-2023 season and was named Assistant Conductor beginning in the 2023-2024 season.

He completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2014 at the University of South Carolina. Previously, Spagnuolo served as the Associate Conductor of the Columbia Community Orchestra, Assistant Conductor for the Long Bay Youth Orchestra, and Chorus Master for the Georgetown County Cultural Council. In addition to his work with the NTSO, he has collaborated with the Dallas Symphony Brass.

Spagnuolo has been a Conducting Fellow twice at the International Conducting Workshop and Festival in Sophia, Bulgaria, and once with the International Conducting Institute in the Czech Republic. His conducting teachers include Larry Rachleff, Donald Schleicher, and Diane Wittry.

When not with the NTSO, you may find him on the Katy Trail with his dog, Maple.
